This tiny engine can fit in the palm of your hand, it is the worlds smallest V-12 engine. It was designed and built by a Spanish engineer named Patelo. He spent more than 1200 hours working on the engine which runs on compressed air. Anyone who appreciates the precision work involved even in building a larger engine is sure to understand what an amazing feat this is.
All othe 261 parts required to build the engine were created from scratch. The parts have been fashioned from bronze, aluminium and stainless steel. It boasts a total displacement of 12 cubis centimetres and the 12 pistons each measure 11.3 mm in diameter. The workings of the engine can be clearly seen thanks to a perspex window on the crank case. It was built for educational purposes and Patelo has no plans to manufacture the tiny motors.
